Chicago and Lake Shared Visions

A historic home to both artistic and cultural expression, Chicago and Lake is also home to a healthcare hub

Here’s a map of properties and businesses impacted by the uprising

Chicago Furniture Warehouse would like to redevelop an expanded site in its previous location, facing Chicago Avenue. In the future, a possible community gathering space may help activate future development facing the promenade

Cepro Park will be receiving several investments and improvements, including new paths, a food forest, and a multi-purpose performance amphitheater. The Allina Bike Center will reopen facing the greenway

The view from the Midtown Greenway, heading west before Chicago Avenue, includes the blank wall of the Allina 10th Street facility and Cepro Park on the right

In the future, Cepro Park will be activated with new amenities and an amphitheater for performance and the Allina 10th Street facility could become a backdrop with art, lighting, and signages that celebrates the cultures and businesses at Lake and Chicago

Chicago and Lake Priorities

  • Improve wayfinding — to the Midtown Greenway and from the Greenway on Lake Street

  • Support to re-develop Chicago Furniture Warehouse and other displaced businesses

  • Sustainable funding for staffing at organizations that are programming and activating spaces

  • Funding for murals, art, and lighting on the Allina building

  • Improvements to Cepro Park, Allina Bike Center, etc
